While I’ve yet to find Chinese food in Seattle that I like as well as San Francisco, what I have found are great subs. There are actually several hot spots for a good, hearty sandwich, but my favorite has to be the Honey Hole on Capital Hill. And while the interior, typical for Cap Hill, is high-grunge style, the Honey Hole specials can’t be beat.

To be fair, I always order the same sub. The El Guapo (pictured). It’s one of their hot, veggie subs dripping with tomatoes, red onions, bell peppers and a very smokey gouda, along with some kind of ranch sauce. The smokey flavor is so full, so rich, so deeply satisfying… you hardly feel like you are eating veggie. It’s the perfect comfort food, esp. for lunch the day after the night before.

Also recommended (by those I’ve eaten there with) are Chachi’s favorite, which is a zesty black pepper turkey sub, and the Buford T. Justice - pulled pork with pineapple.
