I love a good hole in the wall restaurant. Mae Phim, a small Thai cafe in downtown Seattle, certainly qualifies as that. Somehow, despite it’s popularity, it’s managed to slip me by so far. But, no longer. Cam and I went for lunch there the other day, on a day when really, I wasn’t in the mood for Thai food. And, I still loved it. It’s that good. I had the Lemon Chicken which was moist and tasty… not too overpoweringly lemon-grassy. And Cam had, well I can’t remember what he had. I think it was #14. But it was chicken with a satay like sauce and it was really flavorful. And he had the Phad Thai which was simple and delicious. The service was insanely fast, and everything on the lunch menu is about $5. Almost all the meat dishes can be made veggie, except, for some reason #26. I couldn’t quite figure that one out. If you go on a weekday, be prepared for it to be packed. I hear that they actually take orders in line outside so that the food is ready by the time you make it in.
