Go Cupcake! What a beautiful entry. I am experimenting with Financiers (Friands) recipes to make "Friands Cupcakes" and other infused butter cupcakes. It's hard to find almond flour here, but we have plenty of ground almonds sold at the stores, so I try to grind them to its finest texture. Will try your recipe.

Peabody - No! I'll have to give them a go. Actually, I haven't even been to the downtown Purple yet. I've been to the one in Kirkland, and it is always quite good.

Jacelyn - Some meringues last longer than others. This one didn't last long at all. But, I think if you make an Italian meringue it will stay nicer longer.

Veron - Yep, two bites was about right for these!

Laurie - I somehow missed that one on Orangette, although I'm usually pretty good at keeping up with her. Thanks for the tip!

Thanks Chokylit, esp for hosting such a fun event!

These look delicious, and reminded of the Brown Butter-Almond Cakelets with Rhubarb (http://orangette.blogspot.com/2006/05/celebrity-cake.html) featured on Orangette last year. They were delightful; I'm looking forward to rhubarb season already.

This looks really yummy and lovely, even though they seems simple beside others. But it's the simplicity that stands out. =)

I'm curious about the meringue. How long can it last?

Thanks Rachel!

Elle - Thanks. I really like the meringue frosting. It doesn't last long, but it's really yummy.

Kate - Thank you so much!

Eric - Thanks!

Michelle - I haven't, but now I think I should have. It looks like using an Italian meringue (or any merigue with a boily syrup) is supposed to hold up longer. Not that it was a problem for this batch... they disappeared all too quickly!
