Rob - Thanks, we had a great time. Back now, and even back into the swing of things. I'm with you on the bread pudding anywhere :-)

And, as far as what took you so long, who knows! But glad you are here now.

Matt - I'll have to send you a bag!

Anita - Thanks! I'm back, but getting caught up on "real life." Hopefully will be doing some blogging tomorrow, but if you are curious, I've got some photos posted up on my travel-blog

Bea - You should make him some!

Susan - Yes! It's funny though, because McDonalds was always a treat when I was a kid on roadtrips. Now, I avoid at all costs...

Yvo - plus, baking is so much fun! And there are so many great cookbooks to get!

Chanelle - Thanks! And, you should definitely try this more portable bread pudding. I really can't stand it when it is too rummy either.

Almost - Thanks! I'm not sure exactly how healthy either of these treats are... I certainly didn't skimp on the sugars. But, I suppose in contrast to most fast/junk food, they are quite respectable. :-)

I hope you're enjoying your trip to Canada.

As for your statement, "Now, you are probably thinking, bread pudding is not exactly good food for the car," all I can say is, "Nonsense!" Bread pudding is great anywhere: car, sidewalk, rollercoaster. Take your pick. And with blood oranges, it's just over the top unbelievable.

By the way, you have a wonderful blog. What took me so long to find it?

And I thought I was the only one who went to great measures to ensure there were healthy things to eat on our trips. I'm always afraid of being at the mercy of some fast food joint ("But we're starving") or getting a tummy upset just as we're about to catch a plane ("Oh, I shouldn't have eaten that"), but I never worried about making it elegant. Perhaps I should. And your recipe would be a truly lovely start. Thanks!

i hope you have a wonderful trip - your treats look amazing - beautiful pics, as always!
i have always avoided bread pudding because of the "super-moist goop covered with more super sweet and sometimes liquory goop" factor...but this i must try!

and i have not had a chance yet to say how much i LOVE your site redesign! LOVE it! :)
