A Few Days in Rome
Late July and August may not be the best time to visit Italy between the soaring temperatures and gaggles of tourists. But, then again, there really isn’t ever a bad time to be here. We are having an amazing trip. Here are a few shots from our first few days, spent in Rome, to give you just a taste.

[above: Cole has been enjoying her new camera taking in her own views of the city. We all enjoyed a bit of relief from the heat as an afternoon storm moved in.]
[above: walking through the Palentine and Forum instead of joining the long lines for the Coliseum. We are heading back to Rome sometime this month to see a few more of the traditional sites we skipped on this quick tour.]

Amazing stuff - this looks like a great vacation. Talk about a great looking apartment. The anchovies look amazing too - shame we cannot really get them like that here in Seattle. Fresh Borlotti beans too! just not fair.

These are beautiful shots! Wow looking at them brought me back to Turkey especially the shots of the borouli! What a pleasant way to spend the summer.

Amazingly jealous. My husband and I were *supposed* to go to Italy and South of France this month to visit friends who were moving there, but their move got delayed and the whole plan unraveled. I’m living vicariously through the photos. And positively green with envy.

Just found your blog by googling farms on Vashon where I live and finding your writeup about Sea Breeze farm. I just love what you wrote about slowing down and paying attention. And I love what you said about Vashon. I moved to Vashon from New York City…consumed by my work in advertising. Now I revel at the biking to work, making my first pie cherry (picked fresh)pies, helping during lambing season (we had 40 this year!), harvesting lavender…and amazing…I had time to meet my husband here and to adopt a little girl.

Rome is a great place to visit!! I’m Italian and I know it …
But I hate this town for the confusion!
There is not the best season to visit our beautiful town.
We have a lot of tourists … always! There aren’t quiet period
.. is like LONDON …
Anyway great shots and reportage! Do you like our food!??!

Oh Good Lord - I check this because I live near Seattle and find your articles great, but we are going to Italy in October (Tuscany/Cinque Terre) and after seeing these gorgeous pictures I am not sure I can handle waiting seven whole weeks until we leave and get browse and eat!
