Hi. I’m Lara, a photographer, author and food geek, who’s been blogging in this space for, well, quite some time now. I’m so glad you are here!

This blog is just food-related stuff. I also run a food photography & styling blog too, where I share my thoughts and occasional how-tos on food photography and food styling. My personal blog is mainly travel stuff and the occasional rant or rave.

If you are looking for a food or product photographer, give me a buzz. You can find my portfolio on laraferroniphotography.com

I’m glad you are here! Feel free to leave me comments. I love comments!

Notes about Product Links & Ads:
I won’t recommend something on this site that I don’t like. I do, however, accept products and book for review from publishers and if I think it is something that will appeal to my readers, or something that I am super-gung ho about, I may post about it on my blog. I will always give an honest, straight-forward review. If I like it, I’ll say so. If I don’t, I’ll say that too… even if I got the product at no charge.

I often will link to Amazon or Cooking.com with products that I like or review. I am an Amazon and Cooking.com affiliate, and by following the links you will be supporting this blog. I do get a small % of the purchase. And when I say small, I mean really small. Not nearly as much as it takes to run the blog… but every little helps! So, thanks to everyone for your support!

I do run some ads on the site for the same reason. If you’d like to advertise on Cook & Eat or one of my other blogs, let me know and I’ll tell you who to contact. I don’t however, run any text link ads.

Notes about Content:
All content, including photographs are created by me (and copyrighted with All Rights Reserved) unless otherwise noted. Ask first before republishing or distributing! Assuming you link back to the original post, I’ll probably say sure.

I love it. I have only read a few pages. The photos, amazing, your stories, style so impressive. Cheers for contributes and I will read more. Travel-think of us for overseas experiences and food ideas from Korea, Kenya, & Australia-the latter being my current home and the other two previous ones and oh I’m from the north-Minnesota with Korean heritage. Could you guess which sections I read and why I thought it important to tell you these things? Korea@SpanningBorders.com-website soon to come. Cheers,
    Jen

    Hi -

Enjoying all of your sites, thanks. Would you mind sharing which WP plugins you are using? I’m particularly interested in knowing how you do that Recent Posts image grid in your sidebar.

    Thanks
    Andrew

    Hi Andrew,

No problem. I’m not acutally using many plug-ins for the UI, but I am using some for behind the scenes:

Akismet for spam. It’s quite good.
    Angsuman’s Copyright for Feeds
WP-ShortStat & BA Stat for stats. I mostly use shortstat, but that’s been a new find, so I haven’t turned off BA Stats yet.

As for the UI stuff, the recent posts is just some PHP. I have a few variables for each post that point to various sized images, and I just run through the latest 6 posts and pull the variable for the thumbnail.

The cookbook grid is a bit of flash that is generated by StyleFeeder, a really cool service for keeping track of stuff. It spits out a piece of jscript that you can just plop onto your site.

My latest addtion, The Scoop, is actually just the wordpress blogroll put to better use.

    And, that’s about it!

Just came across your site through a link from the sublime David Lebovitz, and as sometimes happens when I’m trawling the blogosphere I have been gushing “me too” at the computer screen for the last 20 minutes (once that greenish colour had gone from my eyes.) I felt obliged to leave a comment (because you like them)and because you have Ice Cream Ireland on your blogroll. I go to their shop every time I’m in Dingle, and eat my weight in ice-cream. So, love everything about your blog and not to sound threatening in any way but “I’ll be back!”

This is just a beautiful site. And I have JUST found out that I was already familiar with Still Life with. HOw wonderful to have discovered this site here as well. Because of my cooking I have become madly in love with food photography and want to pursue it seriously. I am just a beginner but very keen.

I love your site–especially the design! I stumbled upon it from a link from CookieChick. So much fun stuff to read about! Besides, I already feel as though I’m bonded, reading your comments about “berries of the roads of Georiga”…I, too, am a Southern Girl–from North East Atlanta–now finding myself in the oh-so-cold-North West. :)
